Documents and conditions required to become a certified member

A list of terms and conditions and documents required by Certified members. A company wishing to become a member of ABTR must:

• Submit references from at least 2 of its customers;
• Have revenues amounting to 25,000 euros (or the equivalent in RON) or more generated from translation services in the previous year;
• Submit a report demonstrating the implementation of internal standards for ensuring the quality of services, which includes:
  (i) a project control system used by the applicant for its daily operations,
  (ii) a system for the recruitment of, and cooperation with collaborators,
  (iii) use of translation memory software,
  (iv) the creation and maintenance of glossaries. Where this has not been implemented, the company should present a concrete plan detailing the implementation;
• Submit a membership application which includes a written agreement outlining:
  - Acceptance of and compliance with the by-laws of the Association, the ABTR Work Standards and the ABTR Code of Ethics;
  - The intention of supporting the scope of the Association;
• Pay the annual membership fee of 500 euros / year (or the equivalent in RON), either in full or in four equal instalments.
